Excessive pollution is threatening to put Nepal's picturesque Pokhara out of the tourist map. The panoramic view of the snow-clad Himalayas from the valley is fast fading. Industrial and vehicular pollution is to be blamed for the deplorable scenario.
"If this trend continues unchecked, the peripheral mountains will not be visible from the valley after 15 years or 20 years,' warns educationist Kedar Basnet. According to him, it has been just six to seven years since fog and haze started covering the skyline of Pokhara.
