Agriculture growth could reduce by over 6%?
The Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Committee in its latest estimates have projected that during the current financial year, agriculture could experience minus two % growth. However, in a year when the monsoon deficit has been 23%, the highest since 1972 and when drought has been declared in 299 districts during the monsoon itself (a record by itself), this deficit seems to be a gross, misguiding under-estimate.
