The Andhra Pradesh government has given an assurance that the interests of the small farmers and the landless poor will not be ignored during the distribution of 35 lakh hectares of degraded forest lands in the state.
A student parliament to debate the problems of health in relation to development was held in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
A Central team visited three districts in Jodhpur, Rajasthan to conduct a survey of the famine situation. The state has sought Rs 1,100 crore as central assistance for famine relief.
