River Water Sharing
Sharing of the Teesta river water is expected to top the agenda of the Joint Committee of Experts (JCE) of India and Bangladesh which will meet in Dhaka. "If possible, discussions about sharing other common rivers will also be held,' said Khalilur Rehman, a senior member of the Indo-Bangla Joint River Commission (JRC) in Bangladesh. The Indian delegation to Dhaka will be headed by water resources secretary Z Hasan, while his Bangladeshi counterpart A T M Shamsul Huda will lead the team from the neighbouring country.
