0VER two years ago, filmmaker Arun Kachare fell into a debt trap after his Marathi feature film on farmers' suicides flopped at the box office, prompting him to seek help from politicians, who promised to bail him out by organising free shows of the film for distressed farmers to wean them away from committing suicides.
