NIGERIA
The Nigerian government has defended cheap generic aids drugs imported from India. Sani Gwarzo, the coordinator of Nigeria's aids programme, said, "India is advanced in the manufacture of drugs that we are buying.' Nigeria will soon start a trial programme to use cheap, imported generic aids medicines.
The import of such drugs has been made possible due to a recent court case in South Africa.
