POLLUTION
Total suspended particulate matter (tspm ) levels have remained unchanged in Islamabad. Samples of air-borne suspended particulates, collected in the industrial zone of Islamabad, have shown elevated levels of trace toxic metals such as lead, cadmium, zinc and nickel which are being contributed by steel and other allied industries in these sectors, apart from their contributions by vehicles in the study area.
