Fish mortality in Sukhna cause for worry
Around 15 dead fish were found floating in the Sukhna waters on Monday morning, causing concern about the safety of aquatic life in the lake. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the fish could have died because of deposition of sand in their gills. The dead fish were removed and their samples sent to the Department of Zoology, Panjab University, for tests. Water samples were also collected by the Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee.
