Poachers Beaten
Kenyan rangers should get a pat on their back. Recently they killed the leader of a poaching gang in a shoot-out. The poachers armed with ak 47 and g 3 rifles were on the run after gunning down 10 elephants for their ivory in Tsavo East National Park.

It took more than a fortnight to track down the poachers. The rangers followed their footprints through the park. The prints led directly to the elephant carcasses. Reinforcements were brought in, including a helicopter and an aircraft. The day after the ambush, ground forces caught up with the poachers, leading to the shoot-out.

The operation is still on and rangers hope that the remaining poachers, hungry and tired by now, will simply give in.
