What are the results of tests carried out with Immuno QR?
Effect of treatment of herbal medicines to study the serological status of 10 HIV patients (arranged by Anand) was carried out by ELISA test at day 0 and thereafter at days 30, 60 and 90, after the initiation of drug administration. On day 0, all the 10 patients were seropositive. Anand sent only 8 patients on day 30, 6 patients on day 60 and 1 patient on day 90 for ELISA retesting. All these patients were found positive, and hence the claim of a cure by the drugs could not be substantiated. The 1CMR has not continued the tests any further.
However, inputs furnished by the ICMR to Down To Earth give rise to few queries:
Can the lCMR perform ELISA test only to help a person, without any official communique?
If the lCMR is not aware which drug has been administered, what is the point in doing a validity test?
When the number of patients for each session has been different, then how does the lCMR claim to have tested all the patients?
Why did not the ICMR wish to undertake any trial, but offered to do ELISA tests before and after administration?
