BMW launches hydrogen car
German automaker BMW has announced the launching of its prototype Hydrogen 7, the world's first luxury car powered by liquid hydrogen. The vehicles will be manufactured in a European country. A limited number will be in the market in 2007. Equipped with a combustion engine capable of running either on hydrogen or on petrol, BMW Hydrogen 7 has all the comforts of a regular BMW vehicle. Retailed at euro 100,000 (US $131,990), the company plans to lease its first 100 Hydrogen 7s to celebrities.
