Women to the fore
With the 4th un Conference on Women and the ngo Forum on Women (Beijing) round the corner, the New York-based Women's Environment and Development Organisation (wedo) has launched the 180 Days/180 Ways Women's Action Campaign. It aims to bring in positive changes in women's lives. During the 180 days between March 8 -- International Women's Day -- and September 6 -- International Day of Action for Women's Equality -- it will urge people to hold conferences, write to local newspapers and elected officials, and educate students about the gender bias.
