GANDHINAGAR: After 35 deaths of cattle due to anthrax, the state government has swung into action and decided to vaccinate all the cattle in the nearby villages of Dehgam.
AHMEDABAD: The cattle which were found to be infected with anthrax were from Saurashtra. This is not something unusual. It's a regular feature for Maldharis from Saurashtra and Kutch to migrate to central Gujarat and Ahmedabad in search of water.
AHMEDABAD: Nandol village in Dehgam taluka, which is the epicentre of the recent anthrax outbreak in the state, is not new to the disease. Three years ago in Bhaiyal village, 20 km from Nandol, a few bovines had died of a mysterious disease. The authorities then had confirmed the presence of anthrax bacteria in the area.
GANDHINAGAR: The breach in the Narmada canal near Lakhtar in Surendranagar has resulted in water crisis in Rajkot, Jamnagar and Kutch which is expected to last till Monday.
