MERCES, APRIL 5 With the copy of RP 2001 made available to the panchayat only a week ago and the special committee selected to study draft RP 2021 for Chimbel was made aware of it only on Sunday, residents of Chimbel passed a resolution demanding extension of the deadline to submit the plan by another 45 days.
The special committee, appointed to prepare draft RP 2021 for Saligao village, is currently in the final stages of planning a people-friendly plan for the village, after taking into accounts the suggestions and opinion of a cross section of the villagers.

Chicolna-Bogmallo Sarpanch Laximan Kavlekar informed Martins that the seepage continued even though Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) had pumped out 15 tanker-loads of the inflammable liquid.

The United Goans Democratic Party on Friday lashed out at the South Goa Congress candidate, Francisco Sardinha for his promise to reintroduce the Bill in Parliament to legalise bull fights in the state.
