The Goa State Pollution Control Board is assessing replies received from some of the 74 mines that were asked to furnish requisite forest and wildlife clearances required to operate their businesses.
The Goa State Pollution Control Board on Tuesday issued show-cause notices to a veterinary dispensary at Pirna, a health officer of Cortalim Primary Health Centre and Indus Medical Centre, Porvorim, for failing to dispose bio-medical waste as per the Bio-Medical Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 1998.
Sesa Goa and the Vedanta Group has challenged the Goa State Pollution Control Board's order of suspension of closure of mines operation.
