Even as there is no fresh report of further escalation in the flood situation of the State, the Brahmaputra is flowing above the danger level at three places and some of its tributaries are also flowing above the danger level. According to the evening bulletin of the Central Water Commission (CWC), the Brahmaputra is flowing above the danger level at Dibrugarh, Neamatighat and Dhubri.

A minor phase of the Majuli Island protection project executed by Brahmaputra Board is expected to be completed next year, chairman of the Board Rajen Nair said. The Project is part of the long-term project sanctioned in 2005. The Brahmaputra Board prepared Detailed Project Report amounting to Rs.86.56 crore for protection of Majuli Island from flood and erosion.
