Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) has written to the Department of Revenue to include its 1,000 MW new thermal power project at Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu in the list of mega power projects to avail itself of customs and Central excise duty waiver. In a letter to the Joint Secretary in the Department of Revenue, NLC pointed out that the Cuddalore project was missing in the list of notified ultra mega power projects and mega power projects, which were exempted from customs and Central excise duties.
