NEW DELHI: The much-debated nuclear liability bill, critical to participation of US firms in atomic commerce with India, seems headed for the standing committee on energy with contradictions emerging over liabilities that will be incurred by state operators and foreign firms in case of a mishap.
'A quantum of 135 million litre ethanol is being produced from six sugar factories of the State annually. This is being used with petrol as a fuel. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has decided to replace all existing bulbs and lamps across various municipal buildings with energy-efficient T-5 lamps and CFL lights. The decision has been taken in accordance with the Energy Conservation Act (2001), MCD standing committee chairperson R K Singhal said. The civic body will take up the project in two phases at a cost of Rs 2.6 crore.
