Karnataka plans to add 6000 MW through renewable energy resources in the next four years, a top official said today. The state government had set out three goals in terms of energy. It was focussing on ensuring energy for all, being energy efficient and "greening" energy, Karnataka Energy Department Additional Chief Secretary K Jairaj said.
New Delhi: The National Mission on Enhanced Energy Efficiency will be implemented from April 1, 2010. While making the announcement, power minister Sushilkumar Shinde said enhancing energy efficiency is a quick and effective way to mitigate climate change.

The Meghalaya government has okayed the execution of the 500 MW thermal power project by the state-run North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO).
