Pune, August 19 In a major relief to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the Union government on Tuesday approved Rs 511 crore additional funds for roadwork, including BRTS, being implemented under JNNURM. Of this, the Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) roads get Rs 165 crore though there are only about 50 days to go for its inaugural day. "The Union government has approved the revised estimation proposal of the PMC with additional funds of Rs 511 crore,' Mayor Rajlaxmi Bhosale told The Indian Express from Delhi.

Hundreds of residents of the Pushpa Bhavan area spilled out on streets and picketed the Pushpa Bhavan bus station on the BRT corridor.
