Ahmedabad Urban Development Association (Auda) has passed the first affordable housing scheme in the newly declared residential affordable housing (RAH) zone in Khodiyar area, which comes under Town Planning scheme - 60. The developers, Manubhai Patel Company, have been given permission to construct 53 housing units in the zone. Each house will have a buildup of 63 square meters.

The state government has decided to build almost 27,000 flats in three cities of Bihar, including Patna. These flats will be constructed through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and will be available at less than market rates. A decision to this effect was taken at the state cabinet meeting on Tuesday presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. As a part of this decision, the state government has decided to construct 12,696 flats in Gaya, whereas almost 11,000 flats will be constructed in Patna. Meanwhile, 1,496 flats will be constructed in Muzaffarpur.
JAIPUR: In order to launch new housing schemes for residents of Jaipur and Jodhpur, the Rajasthan housing board (RHB) has decided to acquire more land from farmers. A decision was taken in the RHB meeting to acquire approximately 10,000 bigah land in these two cities. RHB officials have already identified the land to launch these housing schemes.
Gandhinagar: Gujarat government is ready with its housing policy for urban areas. The policy is expected to be unveiled within a month. Sources say that the government will be announcing two sub-policies on slum rehabilitation and affordable housing in the cities simultaneously. The government plans to build 22 lakh houses in the urban areas over the next five years out of which seven lakh are meant for rehabilitation of slum dwellers. The government has already got a survey of slums done in various cities.

The housing units will be built on 15-20 acres of land out of 100 acres identified there ", Injeti Srinivas, Secretary , Housing and Urban Development (HUD) department, said on the sideline of a state level workshop on Affordable Urban Housing of Odisha-2012.
