  • Fuel prices up

    Starting today, the price of petrol will be dearer by Nu 1.87 and diesel by Nu 1.05, the first hike of the year. With the increased rate revised by Trade Department, the overall price of petrol rose to Nu 42.82 and diesel to Nu 31.77 in the capital. The price of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and kerosene remains the same. According to trade officials, the rise was caused by the increase in the dealers' commission in India, due to an increase in the price of crude oil in the international oil market. Global crude prices at present have reached almost Nu 5,000 a barrel. Petrol and diesel prices last fluctuated in February 16 last year. As per trade records, the price of petrol and diesel last year was reduced by Nu 1.77 and 0.9 respectively, when crude oil cost around Nu 4,250 a barrel. In June 2006, the price of petrol increased by Nu 3.58 and diesel by Nu 1.91. Every year, Bhutan Oil Distributors and Druk Petroleum Corporation Limited import a minimum of 60,000 metric tonnes of petroleum products, including kerosene and liquid petroleum gas.

  • LPG price up by Re 1 per kg

    The LPG marketing companies have again increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Re 1 to Rs 52 per kilogram in Karachi, Rs 54 in Punjab and Rs 56 in NWFP. Chairman of LPG Distributors Association Hadi Khan said here Tuesday that the retail price of 11.8 cylinder is up by Rs 10 to Rs 550 in Sindh while it is Rs 580 in Punjab and Rs 605 in NWFP.

  • LPG price raised

    The liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) marketing companies have again increased its price by Rs 1.50 per kg, to Rs 56.50 after a period of 15 days. LPG distributors on Friday said that the companies had raised LPG price by Rs 10-15 per 11.8-kg cylinder to Rs 595-600, and 45.4-kg cylinder to Rs 2251. The raise in LPG prices has been effective from Friday.

  • Distributors want Ogra and ministry to monitor LPG prices

    The Liquid Petroleum Gas Distributors Association Pakistan (LPGDAP) has asked the government to ensure monitoring of LPG prices by Ogra and the petroleum ministry to check undue increase in gas prices such as the one introduced by LPG marketing companies during last two months. In a press statement issued here on Sunday, FPCCI chairman zonal committee on LPG and LPGDAP office-bearer Muhammad Irfan Khokhar said that LPG marketing companies have increased the per kg price of LPG by Rs 14.50 from Rs 48 to Rs 62, due to which the price of domestic cylinder has risen from Rs 505 to Rs 675.
