BHUBANESWAR: Panchayati Raj Minister Prafulla Samal today said in the Assembly that the Centre had sanctioned Rs 878.83 crore for the State in 2008-09 under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NRENRENREGS) out of which, the State Government had spent Rs 671.82 crore.
PATHANAMTHITTA: An ambitious programme of planting one crore saplings in the district for the next two years is now underway. THRISSUR: Students of biotechnology engineering of Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology, Kodakara in the district, have come out with a novel project to convert elephant dung into useful bio-products such as paper, briquette, biogas etc. The project can made use to dispose the huge quantity of elephant dung generated at the Anakotta of Guruvayur Devaswom.
