Trees moved by BMC 'dead'
The 58 trees that were transplanted at Banganga pumping station and the MSRDC office on Nepean Sea Road have allegedly died. The trees were transplanted despite the opposition of residents whose battle with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) over the issue had even reached the Bombay high court.

12 labourers from Kalbadevi down with suspected cholera
Mumbai: Hardly had citizens got over the swine flu, malaria, gastroenteritis, and jaundice when cholera has caught certain areas of Mumbai in its grip. As many as 12 patients, all residents of Carvel Street, Ramwadi, Kalbadevi, were admitted to hospital with symptoms of cholera. Eleven of them were admitted to Kasturba Hospital and one to Gokuldas Tejpal Hospital on Wednesday evening.

Mumbai: A scientist from the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) spotted the rare and endangered bird species -- the Jerdon's Courser early this month. According to Dr Asad Rahmani, director of BNHS, "The bird was considered to be extinctas it was first spotted in 1900 and after that in 1986 by our scientist Bharat Bhushan."
