Climate audit of the European Union’s foreign policy

This report analyses the EU's foreign policy and reviews the extent to which the EU integrates climate considerations into its foreign policy and diplomatic efforts. The European Union (EU) is the world’s third largest economy and an important player in the global climate change agenda. The EU has committed to reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and transitioning to a climate-neutral economy by 2050. The EU’s domestic efforts alone will not be sufficient to tackle the magnitude of the climate challenge. Therefore, in light of its historical responsibility, economic capacity, and technological know-how, it must lead the way on climate action internationally.
