Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Giriraj Parikrama Sanrakshan Sansthan Vs State of Rajasthan & Others dated 11/12/2019 regarding regulating traffic congestion in and around Giriraj Parvat and Parikrama Marg, Govardhan, District Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.

The Tribunal noted that the work with regard to ring road was not complete and a part of the work still remains. The same was with the case of service road of 10 meters wide around the Parikrama Marg, behind the existing houses and ashrams.

"We had expected the concerning officer of State of Uttar Pradesh and the Government of Uttar Pradesh, through its Counsel, that work with regard to service road which is necessary for the purpose of regulating traffic, which generate air pollution effecting the pilgrims who are doing parikarma at Giriraj Parvat, to have been completed by now. But to our surprise the things are still proceeding at a snail’s speed and yet to commence at the ground," the NGT said.

The NGT directed the Additional Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh to be present before the Tribunal by December 18, 2019.
