Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of M/S Dinkar Bricks & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 26/04/2018 regarding brick kilns operating within the buffer zone of the eco sensitive zone of Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Also whether the brick kilns have valid consents to operate under the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Environmental Clearance under the EIA Notification, 2006.

NGT Eastern Bench directs the Jharkhand PCB to issue notice upon all the brick kiln owners, directing them to comply with the requirements to be compiled with by them. The State PCB shall then decide on the merit of each of case of the applicants and submit a report. Copies of the letter furnished to the Applicants as directed above, shall also be forwarded to the Department of Forest and other State authorities for their information.
