Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Court on its own Motion Vs. Govt. of NCT Delhi dated 17/07/2017 regarding cleaning of drains in Delhi clogged with silt and municipal solid waste.
NGT appoints counsels as Local Commissioners and directs them to visit the drains of North, South and East Delhi Municipal Corporations. Tribunal also directs that Trunk Drain No. 1 (passing through Seelampur) to be cleaned by the NCT Delhi, Department of Irrigation and Flood Control department within one week and ensure that there shall be no remnant of municipal solid waste and other waste and silt should be seen in the drain after the lapse of one week.
