The true cost of poor sanitation

Lack of access to sanitation cost the global economy US$222.9 billion in 2015, up from US$182.5 billion in 2010, a rise of 22%. This report uses the same economic assumptions from previous research undertaken by the World Bank's Water and Sanitation Program (WSP), and uses modelling techniques to build on this prior work to produce an updated and comprehensive estimation of the cost of poor sanitation in 110 countries.
