Implementing liabilities for environmental damages due to spillage/fire/illegal disposal of hazardous waste and penalty - Draft Guidelines
For safe handling and management of hazardous waste in an environmentally sound manner, Govt. of India has notified the Hazardous Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, 1989, under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. However, these Rules were suppressed with renotification of the Hazardous Wastes (Management, Handling and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2008.
