Maldives State of the Environment Report : The Monthly Overview, September 2013

Maldives was the first country in the world to successfully phase out CFCs, two years ahead of the Montreal Protocol target and has now committed to become the first country in the world to phase out HCFCs by 2020, ten years ahead of the Montreal Protocol phase-out schedule.

HABITAT
 
A contract agreement has been signed between Ministry of Environment and Energy and Maldives Transport and Trading Company (MTCC) to design and build coastal protection structures in Noonu atoll Holhudhoo and Raa atoll Maduvvari islands.
