Vulture watch Nearly half a decade after a massive decline was first recorded in the country's vulture populations, research into the reasons behind the loss continues to befuddle ornithologists. Now, with the formal inauguration of the Vulture Care Centre in Pinjore, near Chandigarh in Haryana, India has taken another step towards making sense of the data generated by previous studies. While the Darwin Initiative of the uk government is giving financial support for running the centre, the technical prop is being provided by the Bombay Natural History Society (bnhs), Mumbai.
