Environmental assessment for use on medium-impact projects

This document addresses development projects' impact on the environment, which may be harmful to communities and ultimately increases poverty and makes people more vulnerable to disasters. It contains an environmental assessment template and describes the six steps involved in completing this assessment, in addition to disaster and climate risk reduction cases. It is for use in projects which have an obvious interaction with the environment, e.g. projects that focus on water and sanitation, agriculture, and those that involve construction of buildings, roads, dams, and so on. It targets agencies which seek good environmental practice in their work.
