INDONESIA

Indonesia is excited over the development of a new strain of cocoa. The locally- developed strain has twin benefits: it makes far tastier chocolate, and is also resistant to a disease that has wrecked havoc on a greater part of the country's cocoa crop. Elated industry spokesmen foresee bigger cocoa revenues in the future, because the breakthrough will put the quality of Indonesian cocoa on par with that of the Ivory Coast, the world's largest producer.
