Definitely fishy, this!

an unusual problem has arisen off the coasts of us . It has do with the clean-up of lakes in and around the country, to get rid of waste that has led to a depletion of a certain variety of fish stock.

For years, environmentalists have advocated the cleaning up of water bodies like the Chesapeake Bay, the Great Lakes, Hudson River and the Boston Harbour, in an effort to bring back the fishes which were forced to migrate due to pollution. But despite the fact that these areas have been made more or less pollution-free, fish catches have not shown a remarkable improvement. "I wish I could tell that we have seen a big boost in commercial fishing catches with the improvement in water quality, but the truth is, we have not,' lamented Peter Shelley, a lawyer at the Conservation Law Foundation in us.

The reason attributed is that while most water-life require clean environments, some species like lobsters can do with some wastes in their habitat. Polluted particles could not only act as an organic source of sustenance for the fish, but also help in the decimation of their prey.
