Good news for diabetics

there is good news for Muslims suffering from Type 2 diabetes. A new anti-diabetic drug, NovoNorm, will particularly help diabetic Muslims who can now observe Ramzan, the month of fasting, without any serious health implications. According to Mohan Pahwa, director of the Institute of Transcultural Health in London, "Many Muslims with Type 2 diabetes have had to adhere to relatively set meal-times. This is because previous medication would act on sugar levels for the whole day, whether the patient ate or not. This left them feeling tired, irritable and disoriented.'

NovoNorm helps diabetics who want greater flexibility in their eating habits. Patients have to take a tablet only when they are going to eat, irrespective of whether they have two or four meals a day. NovoNorm also lowers blood glucose levels.
