GUWAHATI, March 7: Natural Resource Management and Integrated Livelihood Project (NaRMIL), a part of the Assam Agricultural Competitiveness Project (AACP), recently procured 120 sets of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) for regular monitoring and map update on locations sensitive from the environmental and forest perspectives.
Jorhat, March 2: In a bid to provide irrigation facilities to farmers living in the foothills of Assam, the state agriculture department has initiated a pilot project under which sprinklers would be installed to water the fields. The Rs 68-lakh irrigation project will be implemented in 50 units spread over Dhemaji, Jorhat, Nagaon, Kamrup and Kokrajhar districts.
