Department of Agriculture & Cooperation is implementing a Central Sector Scheme namely “Monitoring of Pesticide Residues at National Level” since 2006 to monitor pesticide residues in agricultural commodities
State-wise, crop-wise and season-wise National Crop Production targets for the year 2014-15 in respect of foodgrains, pulses, oilseeds and commercial crops.

<p>The expert committee set up under the chairmanship of Prof. A Vaidyanathan to suggest ways to improve agricultural statistics has called for using remote sensing and restructuring the data collectionmachinery. In its interim report, the expert committee has recommended setting up of the National Crop Statistics Centre (NCSC) to deal with all aspects of crop area and yield estimation.
The crisis management plan outlined in this document is part of overall spectrum of drought management plan but is restricted to the management interventions required during the time of Crisis.
